Fulham are now hoping to convince Liverpool to sell back Neco Williams straight after he impressed on loan at Craven Cottage.

This is according to the Daily Mailwho claim that Fulham wants to spend even before their promotion.

Fulham aren’t quite at the top just yet, but a win over Preston North End on Tuesday will end it.

Fulham have gone straight down after their last two promotions and will hope to halt that run this time around.

The Cottagers have already identified targets but are also focused on keeping borrower Williams.

Williams, 21, was loaned to Fulham in January after playing just once in the Premier League in the first half of the season.

However, the Welshman has impressed at Fulham and has assumed a key role under Marco Silva.

It is now suggested that Fulham will try to persuade Liverpool into a permanent deal – something you can imagine everyone involved will enjoy.

Liverpool love to sell their fringe talent for big bucks, including Williams’ Fulham and Wales team-mate Harry Wilson.

Dominic Solanke and Jordon Ibe also come to mind and you can imagine Liverpool would be willing to sell Williams.

As for Williams himself, he stands little chance of sidestepping Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool’s pecking order anytime soon.

Jurgen Klopp might have called Williams a “machine”.but it’s tough for him at Anfield.

First-team football is vital for him, especially with Wales potentially on their way to the World Cup later this year.

Williams needs to play regularly and Fulham can provide that, while the continuity of maintaining his role at Fulham could be crucial.

You would imagine Liverpool will ask at least £10m for Williams, but Fulham appear ready to spend it once they win promotion.

Of all the targets Fulham have in mind, like Dwight McNeil and Erick Gutierrez, a deal for Williams seems the most likely.
