Accordingly The sunWilfried Zaha wins his race to be fit for Monday’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
What’s the matter?
Well, that’s not the news Mikel Arteta wanted to hear.
The Crystal Palace talisman suffered a hamstring injury on international duty for Ivory Coast, which ruled him out of the 3-0 defeat by England.
However, Zaha has been given plenty of rest since the injury and he is now hoping to face the Gunners at Selhurst Park on Monday.
The south Londoners are unbeaten in six games under Patrick Vieira and have won four of them, with the 29-year-old playing a huge role.
Crystal Palace would be crazy to play Wilfried Zaha against Arsenal
In our view, Vieira cannot risk the Ivorian against Arsenal.
Crystal Palace have an FA Cup semi-final game with Chelsea on April 17 and they cannot afford to be without Zaha at Wembley.
The Eagles currently sit comfortably in 12th place in the Premier League and are very unlikely to be relegated.
As such, Vieira Zaha shouldn’t risk against the Gunners as it just isn’t worth it with such a massive game on the horizon.
The likes of Odsonne Edouard or Jesurun Rak-Sakyi should be given chances in his place, which is practically a free-kick for Crystal Palace.
If Zaha plays and aggravates his hamstring problem, causing him to miss the semifinals, fans will be furious with Vieira.
