The Retro Collection release date is set for October
More than a year after the announcement A boy and his blob: retro collection now has a release date for Switch. An eShop entry specifies the date for October 17, 2023.
A Boy and His Blob: Retro Collection includes the original NES game Trouble on Blobolonia as well as the Game Boy title The Rescue of Princess Blobette. Fans can play the US and Japanese versions of both games. Other features include a music player, save status, and aesthetic options/filters.
The Retro Collection is a two-episode saga, including the original “A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia” (Nintendo Entertainment System) and “The Rescue of Princess Blobette” (Nintendo Game Boy), that will take you on many exciting adventures Delicious surprises kidnapped and funny characters.
Trouble with Blobolonia

Rescuing Princess Blobette
Join the boy and his extraordinary companion Blob on their journey to rescue the beloved Princess Blobette from the clutches of the evil antagonistic alchemist, who harbors great ambitions to become emperor of Blob’s home planet of Blobolonia. But our heroes won’t let that happen.
The fate of Princess Blobette, imprisoned in the tower of the royal castle, is at stake and it is up to you to ensure her freedom. But the alchemist has set up a series of treacherous traps to hinder the boy and Blob’s progress. Join our dynamic duo as they encounter secret rooms, clever traps and dangerous obstacles in the labyrinthine depths of the castle.
Luckily, the Alchemist is unaware of our heroes’ hidden advantage: feeding Blob different flavors of gummy bears will allow him to transform him into different shapes. Armed with this knowledge, unlocking the tower’s door becomes a breeze for our heroes, provided they have the right gummy bear on hand. Blob’s ability to magically transform shapes will help this intrepid pair overcome almost anything the Alchemist can conjure!
