HGTV’s Michel Smith Boyd reveals teammate Anthony Elle’s private thoughts

When new HGTV host Michel Smith Boyd and his “Rock the Block” teammate Anthony Elle pulled up on the set of the competition series, Boyd filmed the momentous occasion. In the video posted on his Instagram page On October 4, 2022, Boyd revealed that he was so nervous that he was looking for a little inspiration to calm his nerves.

As he panned the camera to show dozens of crew members behind the scenes scurrying around trailers and tents, he said, “Okay, I was just on my Bible app and I’ve got ‘nervousness’ and all the prayers about anxiety and fear being nervous typed in and so on and so on came up because it’s more than an idea.”

But right after that momentous moment, he ushered viewers out of the car, filmed the back of his own personal trailer with his name on it, and proceeded to defuse the tension with a bit of humor.

As people shouted good morning and approached them, Smith Boyd said loudly, “Okay, so Anthony just asked me in the car…”

“Don’t say it!” Elle squeaked, adding that he didn’t know if they would be in a trailer together.

Smith Boyd then turned to the people who approached them, including Farmhouse Fixer stars Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin, and yelled the rest of what Elle said to him.

“‘What happens if one of us has to poop? What should we do?’” he said, taunting Elle. “And I was like, ‘Bi***, poo! I do not care!’ And now he has his own trailer! Poo in peace my people!”

Knight could be seen laughing in the middle of the street, and others joined in the laughter.

In the next section of the video, Boyd entered his personal trailer by saying, “I’ve (never) had my own trailer before! Yes!”

He then yelled “waaaat?!” twice as he gave viewers a glimpse of the beds, bathroom, kitchenette and dining area of his personal trailer.

Filming for the fourth season of “Rock the Block,” scheduled to air in March 2023, is taking place in rural Berthoud, about an hour from Denver, in a housing development being built by Landmark Homes. Each team of HGTV stars has $250,000 and six weeks to complete their original drafts for the as-yet-unnamed judges.
