The Super Mario Bros. movie provides a fun reference to Super Mario Odyssey

If you’ve played Super Mario Odyssey, you’ll know Cappy, a sentient cap with eyes that can help Mario capture and transform into other creatures in the worlds he visits. There’s also a shop – a distinctly yellow and purple one – where you can buy outfits, Power Moons for the Odyssey, and other stuff. It’s called Crazy Cap and it appears in the movie in the middle of the Mushroom Kingdom, past the block machines and just down the path from the antique dealer.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” doesn’t let us in The Shop, but there might be movies in the future. There’s a good chance we’ll have sequels (and I’m on it), and it’d be a surprise if they didn’t involve a bit of an outfit change. The facade of the Mushroom Kingdom franchise location, of course, has the store’s signature yellow and purple, with the image of Cappy on the top. I practically jumped out of my seat in the theater when I saw it. Well, look, Universal, Illumination, and Nintendo… I’m not saying you have to give me an interactive tour of the Mushroom Kingdom, but I’m not not says that.
