Sierra, Kassidy and Haley Yeckes are triplets who attended Valley High School in Las Vegas.
But none of the girls really seemed to have much interest in the school, they fell through their classes and had some problems with attendance.
The girls relied on each other and defended themselves against authority figures.
The girls’ mother had died when they were only 3 months old and when they were in sixth grade their father had been imprisoned.
They had been raised by their grandmother. Not wanting to let the girls get away with it, the school introduced them to a program called GEAR UP.
The program allowed them more support and helped the triplets feel more secure.
Nobody had ever known about her rough upbringing!
When her father was finally released from prison, he often left the young girls to fend for themselves.
The girls were taken from his care when their house was shelled! Unfortunately, her grandparents were also careless.
The girls had spent part of their lives homeless, hungry and alone. GEAR UP helped the girls lose their parents and become homeless.
All three girls managed to improve their GPAs, participated in activities, and worked jobs. They all go to college!
The FOX5 Surprise Squad got wind of their story and uncovered a secret – check out what happened!

Right after receiving their diplomas, each of the girls was pulled off the stage and given a great gift!
