The US is taking initial enforcement action against suspected violations of Russian export controls

WASHINGTON — The U.S. on Thursday took its first action to enforce sweeping bans on the export of technology and manufactured goods to Russia in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
Commerce Ministry officials said they were issuing orders to deny export privileges to three Russian airlines – Aeroflot, Azur Air and UTair – as they allegedly continue to violate controls. The US and its allies began introducing export controls in tranches in February, targeting Russia’s defense, aerospace and shipping industries.
