This is I Tried It, a new GOLF.com series where we write about golf items – apparel, equipment, accessories, etc. – that we’ve recently pulled out for a round. We’re here to give our honest, no-nonsense views on the latest and greatest in golf or golf-related articles. So scroll down to read what we love (or dislike) about the latest (or new to us) golf products.
When you think of Wilson, you probably think of basketballs, soccer balls or racquets – not apparel. That’s because the sporting goods brand didn’t launch its apparel line until 2021. In doing so, she has truly focused on her heritage, producing a lifestyle clothing line aimed at golfers and tennis players that features retro aesthetics and modern functionality.
I was first introduced to the line through a targeted ad (as I mentioned here) but recently had the opportunity to visit a retail store in person. At the behest of the nice sales lady, I tried on her Lemont Pant, despite the lack of hang appeal. I was immediately surprised at how well they fit considering how they looked on the frame. They’re not too tight, but not too wide. They have a lot of pockets (which are actually big). The fabric is thick, stretchy And water repellent. You can tell right away that they will hold up over time.
In short (and I’m not saying this lightly), these are now the go-to pair of golf pants that I’ll wear again and again until the weather hits 75 degrees.
