This week, Core Memory The trend has been taking over TikTok, but many people are having a hard time joining.
The viral challenge sees people post a video of one of their favorite memories.
In the background you add a specific audio filter called ‘echo’ to make the memory appear more real and raw.
However, applying this effect proved quite difficult for many TikTok users, who claimed that the ‘voice effects’ feature was not visible to them at all.
If you’re having this problem, here’s why…
How to apply voice effects on TikTok
Normally, this is how you apply voice effects to your TikTok videos:
- Upload or record your video.
- Click the pink checkmark to go to the edit screen.
- In the right sidebar, tap ‘voice effects’.
- Select the voice effect you want to apply.
Some users can’t add voice effects to gallery videos
If you are here, it means that the ‘voice effects’ button is not appearing on your screen.
It’s probably because you’re trying to add a voice effect to a video that’s already been uploaded from your photo library.
For most users, this feature is not available and you can only add voice effects to videos that have been recorded in the TikTok app.
To do this, all you need to do is press + to open a new TikTok video and then start recording.
Try updating your apps
TikTok seems to be rolling out the ability to add voice effects to gallery videos right now.
For some users, it’s already there, that’s why they can do Core Memory trend. However, many accounts still don’t have this option.
Go to your App Store and see if a TikTok update is available. If so, this might give you a ‘voice effects’ button on the camera roll video.
If there’s no update available, you’ll unfortunately have to wait a little longer for this feature.
