Apex Legends players – particularly those with a penchant for the game’s ranked mode – have been dismayed and frustrated over the past few days by an “Infinite Reload” hack that is ruining games for the average player. The problem, as it sounds, is that hacking players will force enemies into consecutive reloads, even if their weapon has plenty of ammo left in the clip.
However, a Redditor found a fix that can be used temporarily. In particular, players should Always try to carry an L-STAR EMG with you. This is because the L-STAR has a slightly different reload animation than most weapons, thus breaking players out of the infinite reload cycle that will most likely eliminate them.
As the player’s video showed, their R-301 was plagued by endless reloads, but pulling out the L-STAR and quickly reloading nipped the cycle in the bud.
While taking up a weapon slot is certainly less than ideal for players, being eliminated as a result of enemies rigging and cheating the game is certainly preferable.
