Tired of swiping left? An ultra-exclusive dating app could be your solution. Hollywood’s most prolific members use a website called Raya, and fans are dying to know who’s a match made in heaven.
Launched in 2015, Raya was reportedly the dating site for celebrities including Channing Tatum, Amy Schumer and Trevor Noah.
Swipe Tinder left, Raya is super popular with these A-list celebs. Let’s discover three celebrity couples who met through the elite dating app.
How to apply for Raya
Joining Raya is not as simple as downloading the app and creating a profile. It requires users to submit an application and the process can be lengthy. The site warns users that application decisions can range from “a day to a few months.”
The app also prompts applicants to add a recommendation: “Please select one or more Raya members who can privately support your application.”
It should also be noted that the application does not always guarantee acceptance.
Which celebs are on the dating app?
Celebrities make up a large portion of Raya’s users, even the likes of Drew Barrymore tries the app. The actress revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she’s been seeing “many” other celebrities along the way.
Demi Lovato revealed in her documentary, Simplicated, that she tried out Raya after her split from Wilmer Valderrama in 2016.
Three A-list celebrity couples who met on Raya
Simone Biles and Jonathon Owens
Biles and Owens linked up with Raya before lockdown in March 2020. The Olympian found her true match with the Houston Texans soccer player. Even if he didn’t know who she was before they met!
Nick Kroll and Lily Kwong
Nick Kroll met his wife Lily Kwong on Raya back in 2018. They married in November 2020 and welcomed a son in January 2021.
Kroll and Kwong had been together for a year and a half when she was in New York and he was in LA. Talk about how your relationship has grown, Kroll uncovered: “We just chatted very casually and then eventually got to know each other in New York and grew fond of each other and slowly developed further.”
Katie Cherry and Ben Affleck
cherry tells In contact that they met on Raya in 2019. However, they had ended it by March 2020 when Ben and Ana de Armas sparked dating rumours.
Ben is back in the spotlight in relation to Raya. Social media user Nivine Jay uploaded a TikTok post Office claimed Affleck sent her a video after she outplayed him at Raya.
Affleck, however, told Diane Sawyer in one interview that he is not on any dating app.
