We have heartbreaking news from Perry County tonight.
In Marion, a three-year-old child is shot – after coming into contact with a gun.
It happened on Magnolia Street – around 9am on Monday morning.
The child’s mother was also injured. She was taken to Hale County Hospital where she was treated and discharged.
Marion Police Chief Tony Bufford says there is no suspicion of a crime. And the incident appears to have been an unfortunate tragedy.
He asks the entire congregation to embrace the family – and support them in prayer.
The ALEA State Bureau of Investigation was brought in to help with the investigation.
