Last year, Tango Gameworks released the team’s latest project, Ghostwire: Tokyo, a Doctor Strange x Bleach-esque version of Tokyo with ghosts and finger guns. Unfortunately, since it was a year exclusive to PS5 and Windows, many fans missed the opportunity to play the game. Today, publisher Bethesda Game Studios announced that the game will be coming to Xbox Game Pass next month
The news comes via a press release sent to Twinfinite and shared via the official Bethesda Twitter account, which revealed that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming to Xbox consoles via Game Pass for the first time on April 12th . That’s not all; Bethesda has also announced a new update titled Spider’s Thread Update that will hit the game across all platforms.
While the teaser for the update doesn’t reveal too much, Bethesda offers a full breakdown of what’s to come in a blog post on the official game page. Spider’s Thread is a new game mode for Ghostwire: Tokyo that throws players into a 30-stage gauntlet-type ordeal where the goal is to get out. It won’t be easy, and after death, progress will reset, minus the ability to keep upgrades.
Outside of the new mode, Akito’s abilities will be expanded with new counterattack, quick dodge, and charge abilities. He’ll need everything he can get, as new types of visitors called Silent Gaze and Retribution will litter the streets of Tokyo, and new areas will bring new missions, making room for more story and cutscenes.
Photo Mode will also get some new updates, including the ability to take a commemorative picture, stamps to overlay pictures, and new characters to unlock at capsule machines scattered around the world.
Ghsotwire: Tokyo is available now for PS5 and Windows and will be released for Xbox Game Pass on April 12th. For more spooky tips and tricks, check out our dedicated section below.
