Tottenham are looking to sign Richarlison and Everton are trying to stick to their asking price despite the need for quick money.
Tottenham already have quite a front line with Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski becoming something of a three-headed monster.
Yet Steven Bergwijn is expected to move on this summer and Kane will need central support given Tottenham’s busy schedule.
A striker who can also play wide would be ideal for Tottenham and they prioritize signing one at Richarlison.
Tottenham want to sign Richarlison
Richarlison has been linked with Tottenham for weeks. as UOL Esporte reported on June 11th that the talks have progressed.
Nothing has happened yet but Tottenham appear to have made Richarlison their main attacking target.
Arsenal and Chelsea have also been keen on Richarlison but the way seems clear.
Arsenal sign Gabriel Jesus while Chelsea bet on Raphinha as London’s elite chase Brazilian attackers.
That would make Richarlison clear to join Tottenham, despite Everton sticking firmly to their valuation.
The Mirror claim Everton will continue to ask for £60m despite concerns about the club’s financial position.
It is stated Everton have until June 30 – which coincidentally is tomorrow – to raise funds to balance the books.
If Everton don’t have money into the club by then, the Premier League can take action.
A point deduction or an imposed budget are mentioned for Everton as well as the restriction on the registration of new players – similar to how Barcelona are still fighting through.
Respective chairmen Bill Kenwright and Daniel Levy are thought to have met for dinner on Monday and you can imagine transfers were at least mentioned.
Tottenham are now expected to continue talks over the next 48 hours as they look to capitalize on Everton’s financial woes; The clock is ticking and Tottenham are hoping to speed up their move to Richarlison at a reduced price.
