Tottenham Hotspur target tells his manager he wants to join Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur’s reported target Joao Palhinha has told his Sporting Lisbon manager he wants to join Wolverhampton Wanderers Record (print edition, page 13, June 13, 2022).

The Portuguese outlet have reported that Wolves have an agreement in principle with Sporting to sign Palhinha for €20m (£17.17m) this summer.

Palhinha, who is also linked with Tottenham from Antonio Conte in the summer transfer window, has reportedly told Sporting manager Ruben Amorim he wants to join Wolves. according to the report.

Record (print edition, page 13, June 13, 2022) have added that Wolves are waiting for a possible exit for Ruben Neves before proceeding with Palhinha’s transfer.

Journal de Noticias reported in May that Tottenham were planning to make an opening bid for Palhinha.

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur will now miss Joao Palhinha against Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now of course we know that anything is possible when the transfer window is open but it seems the 26-year-old defensive midfielder is keen to join Wolves.

Neves leaving Wolves this summer will free up a spot in Bruno Lage’s starting XI and Palhinha could easily replace him in the starting XI.

That’s certainly attractive for the Portugal international.
