Tottenham star handed 3/10 by French media for sombre performance in West Ham defeat

West Ham put on an impressive performance in the second leg to knock out Lyon and reach the Europa League semi-finals – and French outlet GFFN have given Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele a 3/10 rating for his performance.
Ndombele, 25, joined Lyon on loan in January and was his 11th appearance on Thursday night – since returning to Peter Bosz after joining Spurs from Lyon. But things didn’t go according to plan for the big money talent from France.
With a 1-1 aggregate score but no away goals, West Ham simply had to beat Lyon – and they did so with ease. Goals from Craig Dawson, Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen scored the goals in France.
A brilliant performance from West Ham – but a stark contrast to Lyon and Ndombele. GFFN have handed Ndombele a 3/10 display, branding his performance ‘irregular’ and ‘uncertain’ while West Ham go through.

“Erratic on the ball and often unsure of position, he came on at half-time after reducing the first leg with West Ham to ten men. This was a low point of his second time at OL,” reports GFFN on Thursday evening.
Ndombele struggles: Tottenham man terribly vs West Ham
A report by CalcioMercato claimed on Thursday that Lyon have decided not to extend his loan spell at Lyon – or sign him permanently, with the clause in the deal being worth £54million. He will return to Spurs in the summer.
But the chances that he has a future at Spurs are almost zero. Antonio Conte prefers defensive midfielders – and his reaction in an FA Cup tie against Morecambe was poor. He is sold or borrowed again.
