Whether or not the asking price of £150m is reached, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will surely be delighted with West Ham’s decision.

What’s the matter?

Well after West Ham handed Rice a £150million price tag, Levy now has every right to step up his demands on Harry Kane.

Accordingly talkSPORTthe 60-year-old is asking for £160million from those interested in signing the Tottenham talisman.

Now everyone knows Levy is a tough negotiator so we think he’ll see an opportunity after West Ham demanded £150m for Rice.

The 23-year-old is a phenomenal player, but with all due respect, he’s nowhere near as good as Kane, who should be worth well over just £10million more than what Rice is worth.

Levy will be all too aware of this, and when it comes time to sit down at the negotiating table he will surely say something along the lines of: ‘If Rice is worth £150m, Kane is worth at least £200m.’

Tottenham and West Ham can charge whatever they want

Some people reading this will shy away from those numbers.

Of course these are enormous sums of money, although Tottenham and West Ham own these players and they are more than entitled to demand whatever they want.

You have to consider how important Rice and Kane are to their respective clubs and it’s also worth noting how much it will cost to replace them.

In that regard, Spurs and the Hammers have every right to do so, just as Crystal Palace did when they demanded it £80 million for Wilfried Zaha in 2020.
