Tragic Smith machine video raises awareness of gym safety

A virus with great destructive power videotapes appeared online showing the tragic moment a woman was allegedly killed at a gym.

Many people are using the clip to raise awareness about how dangerous exercise machines can be.

As gym culture becomes more and more prevalent, it’s important to be aware of the risks and make sure you work out safely.

Video about Bigic Smith machine goes viral

A video went viral this week showing a tragic machine crash by Smith.

Popular gym equipment commonly used for weight training and consists of a barbell that is fixed between two steel rails.

It is most commonly used to perform “Smith machine squats,” where a person squats with weights over their shoulders.

Gym CCTV footage may be traumatic for some viewers and will not be shown in this article, but it is believed to show a Mexican woman lifting 180kg.

However, the weight was clearly too heavy for her and after attempting to squat, she collapsed and the barbell fell on her head.

At the end of the clip, two people ran to help her, but it was unclear what happened next.

Reports are flooding the internet that the woman is believed to have died in the crash but this has yet to be confirmed.

Footage shared by USA Crime

The video first went viral in February 2022 when it was shared by an Instagram page called American Crime and the words USA Crime.

With over 378,000 followers, this popular news site shares US crime news and videos.

They posted the graphic video on February 23 and claimed that “a woman was crushed to death after attempting a 400-pound squat in a gym in Mexico”.

The site also claims that the incident happened at the Gym Fitness Sport gym in Peralvillo in February, where the mother is said to have been killed right in front of her daughter.

Raise awareness about gym safety

As the footage continues to go viral on social media, more people are using it as an opportunity to raise awareness about gym safety.

While working out with exercise equipment, it is extremely important to use the machine correctly and start with a small weight.
