Rean Schwarzer finally appears in a new trailer of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel anime.

Crunchyroll has released a new trailer for the upcoming anime series The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War.

In contrast to the somewhat shy previous trailer, this one does not refrain from revealing the traditional hero of the series, Rean Schwarzer, who takes on the role of the antagonist here.

The anime focuses on Lavian Winslet, a new character from the northern land of North Ambria who has been recruited into Zemuria’s mercenaries, the Northern Jaegers.

She is tasked with infiltrating the Erebonia Empire and finding out more about the “hero” Rean Schwarzer, who poses a threat to the ongoing war effort.

The trailer also offers a look at the cast of characters we’ll meet, alongside some action scenes.

Incidentally, Lavian is voiced by Makoto Koichi, who played Shizumaru Hisame in Samurai Shodown and The Receptionist in Monster Hunter: World.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series has been closed for a while, but its protagonists, including Rean Schwarzer, are definitely still active in the following games, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, which will finally be localized in English this summer will be available in 2023 for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
