Signal star Trevor Donovan is giving fans a sense of nostalgia with his latest TV project. He is teaming up with Brian Bird, author of “When the Heart Calls,” to create a TV series inspired by “After School Specials” that aired from 1972 to 1997. These new movies. will have the same theme and purpose as the old ABC sequence.

The series is inspired by the classic ABC After School Specials

The series will follow the “after-school specials” tradition, focusing on issues facing teenagers and young adults, Multiple species reported for the first time. They will offer a humorous look at serious topics such as bullying, inclusion, substance abuse and equality.

“These scripted stories will be fun and humorous presentations of contemporary issues, inspiring and uplifting, just like in the original series,” Donovan told Variety. That model worked well for the time, and after twenty years, the lessons and entertaining storytelling for Gen-X will be enjoyed again. ”

The series is being produced by True Brand Entertainment, Bird’s production company.

It is unclear which network will air the films. Donovan has signed an agreement with GAC Family, but it doesn’t appear to be an exclusive deal at this time.

Bird told Variety of the project: “At a time when our cultures are divided, our stories can be the bridge of understanding, problem-solving, healing and sometimes healing. is to save lives. We believe there is a welcome entertainment market that can entertain, inspire and elevate everyone.”

Donovan is also leading an anti-bullying campaign

In one Exclusive interview with HeavyDonovan previously revealed that he will restart his anti-bullying campaign in 2022.

“I’m working with Bill Abbott and the GAC and I’ll be visiting two to three schools over the next year to give workshops, play skits with kids, and promote social support networks. [that] inspire kids to stand up to other kids,” he said. “So that’s the general feel of it.”

The show’s name, he said, is People Behind because they encourage kids to stand up and not be bystanders.

“The base of [the program] is to inspire kids to stand up against other kids and rise together,” he said.

Donovan will also appear in the movie “Reagan”, starring Dennis Quaid.

He told Heavy that he filmed his part at Reagan’s ranch outside of Santa Barbara, California, where he played the role of one of Reagan’s Secret Service agents, John Barletta. He said Barletta was Reagan’s riding detail, so he shot quite a few riding scenes with Quaid. It was a great opportunity, but there was one scene in particular that really stuck with him.

“I had a really emotional scene with him where I had to tell him we couldn’t ride anymore because of his broken spirit,” Donovan shared. “It was a really emotional moment that I had to tell Ronald Reagan that we couldn’t do what he loved to do anymore. … It’s all part of the true story of how it happened. ”
