Trump reacts to 9/11. Family criticizes him for hosting golf tournament supported by Saudi Foundation

Former President Donald Trump has responded to criticism from families affected by the 9/11 terror attacks over his decision to host a Saudi-backed golf tournament.
When asked about the criticism, Trump replied: “Unfortunately, no one reached the bottom of 9/11, and they should have done so for the lunatics who did that terrible thing. with our city, with our country, with the world. ”
He continued, “So no one was really there but I can tell you there are a lot of really great people here today and we’re going to have a lot of fun and we’re going to eat happy and the money will be abundant for charity.”

The former president explained that he has “knowed these guys for a long time in Saudi Arabia and they have been my friends for a long time… What they are doing to golf is amazing.”
Earlier this week, the 9/11 families released an ad criticizing Trump for hosting the tournament, The Washington Post reported.
“How much money to turn your back on your country?” said a woman.
Another called it “disgusting.”
The Post notes that more than 100 of those affected by the tragedy will head to Trump Bedminster National Golf Club next week to protest.
The Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund is said to have sponsored the event.
Brett Eagleson, founder of 9/11 Justice, told the newspaper that if it weren’t for “the support these hijackers received from the Saudi government, 9/11 would never have been. happen”.
He continued, “We want golfers to know who they’re doing business with, who they’re sleeping with; We wanted to be able to educate them and highlight the new evidence we have about Saudi Arabia’s role in 9/11.”
The Wall Street Journal previously asked Trump to respond to families calling for him to cancel the event.
“I don’t know much about the 9/11 families, I don’t know what the relationship is with this, and their feelings are very strong, and I can understand their feelings,” Trump said.
He added, “I can’t really comment on that because I don’t know exactly what they’re talking about, and what they’re saying who did what.”
