Trump wants drug dealers to be sentenced to “death” in the 2024 presidency

Former President donald trump launched his third campaign for the White House on Tuesday with some powerful attacks on lawmakers.

The former president, who ran for president again after his 2016 victory and ignominious defeat in 2020, during his official announcement of his 2024 presidential bid, urged lawmakers to pass legislation mandating the death penalty for drug dealers.

“America’s comeback is starting right now,” he said as he officially opened the 2024 Republican primary.

“To make America great and glorious again, tonight I announce my candidacy for President of the United States.”

Donald Trump wants drug dealers to have the death penalty

Trump made the death penalty proposal on November 15, 2022 before an audience of several hundred supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. He said such laws in countries like China and Singapore would put a stop to violent crime in those countries and said they were the only way to fight drug trafficking in the US

“Much of the crime wave is caused by drug dealers, who will kill an average of 500 Americans over their lifetime. Remember. A drug dealer. You see, a drug dealer kills 500 people on average.”

Trump shared more statistics on the illicit drug trade in the US with his supporters without naming a source, while calling for the death penalty.

“I call for the death penalty for drug dealers and human traffickers, which if enacted will reduce drug distribution and crime in our country by at least 75 percent.”
