‘Twin Flame’ lyrics meaning Machine Gun Kelly song about Megan Fox

Machine Gun Kelly’s new album Mainstream Clearance, is officially here; but there’s one song that gets fans talking in particular. MGK’s “Twin Flame” lyrics tell the story of his whirlwind romance with Megan Fox – from the surprising thing Megan told him on their first day together to what MGK is making of their relationship now.

“Twin Flame” is the rocker’s last song Mainstream Clearance
album, is an ode to his fiancee. MGK popped the question in January 2022 with a personalized engagement ring featuring Megan’s birthstone, an emerald, along with a diamond representing his own birthstone. Their engagement came nearly two years after they first started dating. MGK and Megan first sparked romance rumors in May 2020 after they met on the set of their 2021 film. Midnight in switchgrass.

At the time, Megan was separated from her estranged husband, Brian Austin Green. the Jennifer’s body Star would eventually file for divorce Beverly Hills, 90210 Alum in November 2020 after 10 years of marriage. Her divorce from Green – with whom she shares children Noah, 9, Bodhi, 7, and Journey, 5 – was finalized in February 2022.

Throughout their relationship, Megan has been open about considering MGK her “twin flame,” a concept akin to a soulmate – only more intense. “I knew right away he was what I call a twin flame,” Megan said during the couple’s first interview together on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s podcast Give Them Lala…With Randall in 2020. “Instead of a soul mate, In a twin flame, a soul has actually ascended to a level high enough that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul I think. And I told him that almost immediately because I felt it right away.”

MGK’s “Twin Flame” lyrics allude to this very conversation. “It’s been six days since I last saw your face and you asked my mark / I told you mine, I ask why and you said ‘Everything is aligned,'” sings MGK in a stanza of “Twin Flames”. While he doesn’t mention Megan by name, he does bring up the same day that Megan mentioned during their podcast appearance together: “The first day you told me, ‘I was your past life twin flame.'” Sounds like MGK feels also quite aligned nowadays.

stanza 1

It’s been six days since I saw your face and you asked me for a sign
I told you mine, I wonder why, and you said “everything is aligned”
The first day you told me, “I was your twin flame from a past life.”
And tonight it’s a full moon, so take me somewhere outside
I can’t kiss you yet, you’re magical, so I just stare at you instead
I get insecure and panicky because I know you’re too pure for this

Choir

You’re too good for me, I’m too bad to keep
I’m too sad, lonely
I just want you

verse 2

Hey, I have six ways to say I fell in love with you at first sight
I wish I could frame the way you look at me with those eyes
Freeze time baby rewind
You may ask earlier: “Be mine”
Look, I didn’t get the deja vu until I met you

Choir

You’re too good for me, I’m too bad to keep
I’m too sad, lonely
I just want you
You’re too good for me, I’m too bad to keep
I’m too sad, lonely
I just want you
[Interlude: Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox]
I feel like, um, I’ll just walk away from here and…
You want something?
You and I can just drive anywhere, we can just go
ok i love you
I love you
(I know there is no happy ending in this movie
I know there is no happy ending in this movie)

bridge

Go to sleep, I see you in my dreams
That changes everything, now I have to set you free
