Throughout the offseason, the Miami Heat have been locked in potential trade talks with both the Utah Jazz and the Brooklyn Nets. So far, however, no progress has been made in pursuing Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell. All current heat trade discussions depend on the involvement of Bam Adebayo, something some within the organization have so far hesitated to do. Without including Adebayo, Heat Warden Tyler Herro is at the heart of all trade talks right now. The Guardian recently spoke about how it feels to continue to be in trade talks.

“I mean, every summer, that’s what it is,” Herro said Tuesday as his foundation, the T. Herro Foundation, partnered with the Heat to give nine Heat Academy students a $500 gift card each to reward that they can use on a back. School shopping at Target at Dadeland Station in Miami. “I mean, ever since I’ve been here, my name has been in rumours. So rumors don’t bother me. Whether I’m on the Heat or elsewhere, I’m getting ready for the season.”

Herro added more about his thoughts on trading and whether the things the Heat should be moving this season should be moving. His thoughts went viral for an interview he did with controversial YouTuber Jake Paul.

Heat should “run back”

In an episode of Paul’s new podcast, the YouTuber-turned-boxer asked Herro, “What would you do if you were the Heat GM?”

In the clipHerro shares his thoughts on the trading opportunities on the horizon and how he believes the Heat should progress.

“I would send it back,” Herro said. “I think that’s what we do. We brought everyone back and I mean we were just one step away from the final. So I would send it back.”

With the Heat’s current roster if they were going to run him back, Bleacher Report put them in theirs five teams that would be worse next season. They lost PJ Tucker, who was a key player for them, and have only one real signing so far, newly drafted rookie Nikola Jovic. It remains unclear who will replace Tucker. Jimmy Butler could be slotted into the Power Forward slot, but other names to consider include Caleb Martin, Haywood Highsmith and possibly even Omer Yurtseven.

Much of the Eastern Conference got better this offseason, and it’s hard to say the Heat has done so. Victor Oladipo claims he will be one of the best players in the world again this season and could that be an addition for them? Nevertheless, that remains unlikely.

Jake Paul on his friendship with Herro

The viral clip of Herro explaining that the Heat should roll back happened on Jake Paul’s new podcast. Paul recently opened up about how the two stars became friends.

“It came from our security guys introducing each other.” said Paul. “We both always talked about each other. It just made sense to link. We saw him at a game and we’ve been just boys ever since… We interviewed him and it was great. I know he doesn’t do that many interviews, it was cool to see a different side of him.”
