Tyler Perry addresses A Madea Homecoming sequel expectations

Tyler Perry’s films can be described in many ways…
On the other hand, perhaps the best way to describe them is an acquired taste.
The 52-year-old actor and filmmaker has delivered countless character creations in his career, but none is more iconic than Madea, an elderly woman like no other.
Fans are excited to welcome her back to the screen with A Madea Homecoming, which premieres on Netflix on Friday, February 25, 2022. It even stars Brendan O. ‘Carroll as Mrs. Brown.
With thoughts now looking to the future of this ambitious crossover, let’s highlight the situation the A Madea Homecoming sequel is in.
Is A Madea Homecoming Sequel Confirmed?
No, neither Tyler Perry nor Netflix have announced that a A Madea Homecoming sequel is in the works.
However, it might be a bit early to expect specific news on the sequel, as Netflix – like other titles – is likely to track viewing figures for the remainder of February and March before determine whether a sequel is warranted.
However, since this is the second Tyler Perry movie to be released by Netflix, there’s reason to be optimistic.

“We’ll see what comes next”
Here is another reason.
You’ll be happy to know that Tyler was recently interviewed by Movie transcripts and does not rule out that a sequel to the movie in 2022 will be released.
When the interviewer asked about Brendan saying that the duo could potentially bring the film to the touring stage in 2023, Tyler said the following about potential future projects:
“Brendan is such a joker, you never know when he’s telling the truth. But I’m taking it one step at a time, because it’s been such an overwhelming time in my life, with my business, career and everything – and my son too. ”
He added: “I just took it one step at a time, so we’ll see what’s next.”
