Umbrella thug hurls racial slurs including the P-word while threatening to kill a man

Video footage has emerged showing a horrifying incident in which a man racially abused and threatened to kill another man in broad daylight in Cheadle, Stockport – while brandishing umbrellas at him.

The man chased the victim down a busy road and hurled insults while appearing to hit her with the two umbrellas, one in each hand.

The attack victim expressed outrage after witnessing two men verbally abuse a homeless man.

He said he was with a friend returning from Tesco Express in Wilmslow Road, Cheadle, when he noticed a man molesting a homeless man nearby.

“The homeless guy was just minding his own business — he’s a local homeless guy that everyone knows,” he explained.

“In the video, the man with the cane started saying things to him like, ‘Why are you here?’ and “why don’t you work?” in a nasty tone.’

The alleged attacker aggressively brandishes two umbrellas at the victim

After the homeless man told him he had served in Iraq, one of the men reportedly became “really aggressive” and asked him what regiment he was in and where he was stationed.

A couple are said to have intervened in the incident around the same time the victim began filming – but once the couple realized he was filming them, the second man targeted him too.

In the shocking footage, a man can be seen stabbing the cameraman with two umbrellas as he chases him down the street.

A man can be seen raising a wooden walking stick above his head in what the victim of the attack said was a threatening manner towards the homeless man.

But while the victim is filming, the man’s friend aims at him instead, forcing him off the sidewalk and into the street.

He yells at the camera with repeated racial slurs and grows increasingly angry.

The victim tells the man not to touch him, but the man can be seen hitting the victim with an umbrella in each hand while the victim says, “You damn it for hurting me.”

He repeatedly calls the victim the P-word, adding that he is also a “b*****d” and a “c***”.

The victim tells his attacker that he’s live on Facebook, to which the man replies, “Fine. fuck off [P-word] w*****.’

Referring to the video, he said: “Tell you what, I’ll make you a deal.

“If you ever post this on Facebook, I’ll kill you.”

He then continues to stab the victim with umbrellas down the busy street, screaming, “You think you’re tough!”

The camera then switches to the ground as an altercation ensues.

Shortly thereafter, the attacker’s friend grabs him and takes him away from the victim towards a pub.

A man was later arrested for assault, according to a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

Although the investigation is ongoing, police confirmed they were called to a “racially aggravated altercation” and stated that “under no circumstances will this type of behavior be tolerated”.

They said: “At around 8pm on Monday 25 July 2022 we received a report of a racially aggravated altercation in Wilmslow Road, Stockport.

“An investigation is ongoing at the moment, but this type of behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the matter is being addressed.

“The victim of this attack has been updated and continues to be assisted by officials.”

In a second video posted online by the victim, police can be seen speaking to a man outside a pub in Stockport, where the incident ended.

The person filming the video is being asked by an officer to walk away, but he says: “I’ve experienced racism for 40 years. I’m not moving away.’

He then steps aside so the cops can take the man to their police car.

Viewers of the second video rushed to the victim’s aid. One wrote: “So satisfying to see. Watching the original video really got my day going.”

A second said: “The privilege is real,” while another added: “His behavior was disgraceful.”
