Sonic the Hedgehog’s thirtieth anniversary is a distant memory at this point, but that doesn’t stop Sega from opting for more unlikely combinations. It was recently announced that Sega and flashy football gear maker Phenom Elite are collaborating on some new Sonic the Hedgehog themed football boots, gloves and mouthguard.

Currently, only the above three types of gear come in blue with Sonic the Hedgehog and red with Knuckles the Echidna. The cleats sell for $149, the gloves are available for $49, and the mouthguard is $19 each (see cleats and gloves below). For now, this is the magnitude of what we know is certain to come in the near future.

Sega also announced today that more gear such as Sonic compression clothing and other unspecified accessories will be released.
