UofL beats Murray State in home opener at L&N Stadium

The University of Louisville is now 2-0 after defeating Murray State in the home opener Thursday night. This was the Cardinals’ first home game at the newly named L&N Stadium and under head coach Jeff Brohm. It was a one-sided game all evening with UofL defeating Murray State on all fronts. Jack Plummer threw 16-22 on the night, with a touchdown against Jamari Thrash. Plummer had some sloppy plays and threw two interceptions on the night. The Cardinals were dominant on the ground, with Jawhar Jordan rushing for two touchdowns, along with Isaac Guerendo and Thrash also rushing for a touchdown. UofL’s defense was rock solid Well, Murray State only gave up 151 yards through the air and 83 yards on the ground. The defense also forced two fumbles and an interception. The Cardinals then shut out the Racers 56-0. Louisville is back on the road next week to face Indiana University in Indianapolis on Saturday at noon.
