Usher will perform at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show – The Hollywood Reporter

Grammy-winning superstar Usher will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII 2024 halftime show.
The NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music made the announcement on Sunday. The big game will take place on February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. It will air live on CBS.
“It is an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl appearance off my bucket list. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show like they’ve never seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity a reality. We’ll see each other soon.”
This will be Usher’s second Super Bowl appearance. He performed alongside the Black Eyed Peas – and saved the day – when the pop group headlined the game in 2011.
Usher is currently completing his My Way The Las Vegas Residency, which earned the singer rave reviews for his strong dance performance and collection of hits. The artist, who has won eight Grammy Awards and sold 80 million albums worldwide, debuted on the music scene as a teenage singer in 1994 with his self-titled album. He has had nine No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, from “Nice & Slow” to “Yeah!” to “U Remind Me,” and several of his albums are considered R&B and pop classics, including 2004’s Confessionswhich achieved diamond status.
Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation return to produce the halftime show for the fifth time. The rap icon won together with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar won an Emmy for their epic, hip-hop-driven halftime performance last year. This year’s halftime show, featuring Rihanna, who revealed her baby bump during the explosive performance, is nominated for five Emmys. Jay-Z is nominated for two nominations, including a historic nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Variety Special, which he shares with Hamish Hamilton.
“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Since his debut at the age of 15, he has followed his own path. “Beyond his flawless vocals and exceptional choreography, Usher reveals his soul,” said Jay-Z, who collaborated with Usher on the songs “Hot Tottie,” “Anything” and “Best Thing.”
“His remarkable journey has taken him to one of the greatest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”
Next year’s Super Bowl will be the first time the big game is held in the Vegas area. This comes a week after the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
“Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career. “We’re thrilled to have him headlining this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show,” NFL music chief Seth Dudowsky said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another halftime show for the history books.”
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports and Beats, added: “We are so proud of what we were able to achieve with the NFL and Roc Nation last year, and now with the incredibly talented Usher who has joined us Expected.” On stage, we look forward to another incredible halftime show from one of the world’s greatest artists of all time.”
The Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show is produced by DPS, with Roc Nation and Jesse Collins serving as executive producers and Hamish Hamilton serving as director.
