Val Chmerkovskiy and Gabby Windey

“Dance with the Stars” Professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy simply finds one more intimidating than the others.

The professional dancer – who works with former “Bachelorette” Gabby Windey – has found herself at the top of the charts in both episodes of Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars aired so far this season, but it means not he believes that the judges make it easy for them.

For many dancers, the most intimidating is Len Goodman, 78, who was a judge on the show from the beginning and was a former ballroom competition judge, but that’s not the case for Chmerkovskiy.

Goodman sits on the board along with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.

Chmerkovskiy does not find Len Goodman intimidating

In an interview with us weeklyChmerkovskiy revealed that he doesn’t think Goodman is the most intimidating judge.

“We have such a different relationship with the judges than I think people think, you know?” Chmerkovskiy told the outlet. “The most intimidating thing…obviously the answer [for others] is Len, because Len is, you know, he’s kind of matter-of-fact. With Len, I don’t find him intimidating because I’m navigating in his lane.”

Chmerkovskiy added that he would like a table full of Goodmans.

“I think the most challenging judge out there would probably be Carrie Ann just because she kind of feels drawn into the department and lane, which I’m not really [great at]’ shared Chmerkovskiy. “I mean, I’m good at it [that] too, but I think as a female adjudicator, as I work with female celebs, you know that this could be a more intimidating prospect to appear in front of.

Chmerkovskiy returned to the ballroom for season 31, but his pregnant wife Jenna Johnson did not. However, that doesn’t mean she’s not involved in his season.

“That’s the game changer, you know, when you get married, that becomes a part of your life, and having Jenna by my side — and Jenna loves Gabby by the way, she loves Gabby,” Chmerkovskiy told ET Online after the premiere.

Windey added: “We love each other, me and Jenna. I wish we could be partners.”

The partnership works as the two have found themselves at the top of the leaderboards on multiple occasions.

“I think we’re feeling good,” Windey told the outlet. “I don’t know. I’m obviously happy to be here… I have a really great teacher and partner.”

Chmerkovskiy added: “I’m excited to be part of this show, you know? I’ve been on this show for 12 years now and I’m excited to have a partner and that gives me a chance to dance and gives me a chance to go all the way. I firmly believe in this partnership. I am grateful for their work ethic, their attitude and their fan base.”

Cheryl Burke also thinks Goodman isn’t intimidating

Cheryl Burke, the longest-serving professional dancer on “Dancing With the Stars,” who has danced on the show for over 25 seasons, shared Us weekly that she also doesn’t find Goodman the most challenging or intimidating judge.

“I get along with all the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ judges, but Len Goodman is my favorite because he was a real ballroom judge before ‘DWTS’ and knows his stuff,” Burke told the outlet.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 a.m. Pacific on Disney+.
