Venezuela’s National Assembly appoints Elvis Amoroso as head of the Supreme Electoral Authority

CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuela’s National Assembly, which is dominated by the ruling Socialist Party, on Thursday appointed loyalist Elvis Amoroso as head of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Before his appointment as head of the CNE – Venezuela’s highest electoral authority – Amoroso previously served as the South American country’s auditor, overseeing the use of public funds.
