Curry wrote that a hotel employee asked to see his hotel key while he was sitting in the lobby

The caption on Curry’s Instagram postwhich he shared on December 10, 2022 reads:

“Black man and a hotel lobby, there’s no way he has a room here. No, I have a suite! He comes at me with no badge. I don’t know who this man is. And asked to see my hotel key Wyndham racism.”

He then shared a name and phone number and wrote, “Head of security and chief of maintenance at the same time.”

“So the problem is, I’m in the hotel lobby and this man wants to see it, I don’t know,” Curry said.

“I’m just asking if you’re a guest,” said the worker.

“Are you a guest?” Curry asked.

“No, I’m an employee,” said the man.

“You have your backup. Does he speak?” Curry asked, noticing another employee standing nearby.

“He asks me about mine, I can’t be in that hotel lobby when you’re Black and Colorado Springs… Wow, that’s crazy, isn’t it? So check it out,” Curry said.

The employees stood still.

“They have a black guy in Colorado Springs, so they’re sending this guy … So can’t be a black guy … yeah, I’m trying to pull the race card,” Curry said elsewhere, scoffing at any claim he would play the race card .

He accused the second employee, who appeared black, of being an “Uncle Tom”.

“I asked you very politely. Are you a guest of the hotel,” said the first employee.

“That’s the point… You see a black man in the lobby. Check out her attitude. They’re going to kick my ass,” Curry claimed.

“I am a black man. I’m sitting in the lobby. I should buy the hotel. That’s the funny thing. How long are you gonna stand there mate?” Curry asked.

“Until you answer my question,” the employee said.

“It doesn’t matter how much you’re worth, sir,” the employee said.

“There are many white people…” Curry said.

“They all pay for it,” the clerk said, adding that if Curry were a “patron of the hotel,” he could stay.

“Of course I’m at the hotel, yes,” Curry said.

“I feel threatened,” Curry added. “…Please back. I feel threatened by your attitude and the way you look at me.”

Then he said, “I come here and this guy comes up to me and says some bull***. Look at that. This is hilarious. Goggles on and look at the boots…we’re gonna do this all day,” Curry said.

Then he got up and said he was going to the bathroom and asked if the two men would stop him.

“You better not touch me,” Curry said.

Curry then walked through the lobby.

“I’m at the hotel and these guys followed me. you followed me You don’t know who I am.”

“I’m calling the police about you,” Curry said. “…I don’t like being hassled. I don’t like being followed.”

He approached a woman at the counter. “I’m being followed and harassed by these guys here.”

The woman asked, “Are you a guest at the hotel?”

“Did you check me in?” Curry replied.

Curry said he wanted to see the ID. “I’d like to call the police about this guy.”

The woman at the counter said the man was an engineer.

The woman at the counter said Curry was being asked his name and whether he was a hotel guest for “security reasons”.

“I’m just asking if you’re a guest, yes or no?” said the woman at the counter.

Curry said they should ask everyone else in the lobby if they were guests.
