Many posted their thoughts on Twitter, slamming the changes and saying they weren’t watching.

“No sorry I’m out,” one person wrote, while another said, “One look at the photo and yeah that won’t work.”

Another tweeted, “Time to call it a day, you’ve had a good run,” and another said, “Can’t wait… to see something else.”

“Let’s shake things up and replace with more people who are exactly the same – at least Carrie Bickmore was relatable and authentic – Sarah Harris and Georgie Tunny – how boring is this show supposed to be?” another wrote.

“Ugh no thanks,” one complained, while another said, “Give up already. Enough. Put the Simpsons back on.”

“Seriously, what a terrible line-up. This show will be gone in six months,” wrote another, while another asked, “Who are these people?”

“I’d rather drink my own pee than watch Waleed and these aloof millennials/boomers talk about things they actually don’t know anything about,” said one.

Others were impressed, with one fan gushed, “The project is the best show on TV,” and another agreed, “Looooove this line up.”

It comes after Tommy Little was quietly removed as a regular panelist from The Project.

The stand-up comic is no longer an “official” cast member, but will make sporadic appearances on the show, according to TV Blackbox.

Steve Price was also notably absent from an official press release confirming that Sarah Harris will be on the show as a host alongside Waleed Aly and two new cast members.

A Channel Ten spokesman said Tommy has retired from the show after a string of high-profile retirements including his best friend Carrie Bickmore, Lisa Wilkinson and Peter Helliar.

“The project team adores Tommy and looks forward to working with him again in 2023,” a spokesperson told TV Blackbox.

Sam will be on the program Monday through Thursday, while Michael will join Hamish MacDonald and Georgia Tunny on Friday and Sunday nights.

The project has been rocked by several high-profile exits in recent months.

Wilkinson announced last month that she was quitting, effective immediately, and longtime presenter Carrie Bickmore confirmed her departure in October.

The embattled TV presenter Wilkinson, 62, made the shock admission at the end of an episode, leaving viewers stunned.

“I’ve decided it’s time to reprioritize a few things in my life,” the TV veteran began alongside The Bachelor co-hosts Hamish Macdonald and Laura Byrne.

“And after almost 15 years of early warning television and now another five years here at The Project desk, I’m looking at how I want to shape the coming years professionally and personally.”

Helliar also announced he was leaving The Project last month, explaining that he made the decision to quit following the departure of his co-host Carrie.

“Carrie, you recently said that you’re glad to be leaving The Project, even though you still love it and I still love the show. I really do,’ he explained.

“The project means a lot to me. It has done amazing things for me. I interviewed Luke Skywalker once… and I look forward to seeing what the show becomes in the future.
