VPR star says she ‘doesn’t mind’ undergoing IVF

Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent shares a 22-month-old daughter named Ocean with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett. Kent and Emmett ended their relationship in October 2021.

While recording an episode of their February 2023 podcast Give Them Lala Kent shared that Ocean has expressed interest in a sibling. She also noted that she is ready to conceive without a partner and “doesn’t mind” undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). She clarified that she doesn’t think she needs to do IVF or freeze her eggs to conceive right now.

“I’m not at that point yet. I went to a fertility specialist, he said I could be an egg donor but that was when I was considering my sperm donation options which I am still considering. It’s not out of the question,” Kent said.

She went on to say that she is willing to try different avenues to have another child.

“I’m not against IVF. I know I want another baby, so whatever I have to do to make that happen, whether it’s meeting a partner, although having a baby with someone freaks me out, or IVF, sperm donor, IUI [intrauterine insemination] Enter deal, any of that. I just want Ocean to have a sibling and I want to be pregnant again,” the Bravo personality said.

Kent shared that she plans to try and conceive in the summer of 2023 on a November 2022 episode of her co-star “Vanderpump Rules.” Scheana Shay’s “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay” podcast. She noted that she was considering using a sperm donor and explained that her breakup with Emmett made her hesitant about co-parenting someone else.

“The odds of it not working out are so high, especially where we live, that I won’t take the risk. I’m so scarred by all the shit that’s happened in my life that I’m doing a sperm donor. Period. I won’t even try to do it any other way. I don’t want anyone else involved,” the reality TV star said.

In a January 2023 episode of Give Them Lala Kent spoke about her parenting style. She explained that she was relatively relaxed when dealing with her child. The “4 U” singer then compared the way her parents dealt with Shay’s dealings with their daughter Summer Moon Honey Davies. She explained that the “Good As Gold” singer expressed her concern when Ocean and Summer cried while vacationing in Palm Springs in January 2023.

“Summer is crying and Scheana is so sweet, she’s like, ‘I don’t want her to be traumatized,’ and I’m like, ‘Scheana, she’s in a beautiful home in Palm Springs in a fabulous — she’s not going to be traumatized with it, okay, she will she’s fine,’” recalled the “Vanderpump Rules” star. “Where like Ocean took a nap, she literally wakes up crying for two seconds and Scheana says ‘Ocean is crying.’ I said, ‘I hear her, she’s fine, she’ll find out. If 5-10 minutes goes by and she’s still walking, I’ll go in there.’”
