Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney and her ex-husband Tom Schwartz finalized their divorce in October 2022. Following his split from Maloney, Schwartz began a flirtatious friendship with Raquel Leviss. In the teaser for Vanderpump Rules Season 10 Episode 3, Scheana Shay can be seen sharing her approval of Leviss and Schwartz dating. Maloney is also shown getting upset with Shay and Lala Kent telling Lala Kent that the “Good As Gold” singer is “a frigging person”.

During a February 2023 interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, commented on Shay Maloney’s reaction to her. She shared that she felt the 37-year-old didn’t mind the idea of ​​Schwartz and Leviss dating. She claimed that after rumors surfaced that Schwartz and Leviss kissed during the 2022 Coachella music festival, Maloney told her she thought she was a good match.

“Katie was like, ‘I think they would make a good pair or they might be a good match’ or something like that, so I took that and ran with it and said to Raquel, ‘Katie will kinda give you her blessings if you want to track that,'” Shay said. “And you’ll see how the rest unfolds… It started out as a conversation, which Katie joked? While speaking with Page Six, Shay also noted that Maloney was upset that Schwartz decided to kiss her “Vanderpump Rules” castmate. In “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10 Episode 1, Maloney explained that she and her ex-husband had agreed to only date outside of their friend group. Shay shared that she believes Maloney implemented the rule because she “just wants to[ed] to have some control over Schwartz.”

In the interview, the model noted that Maloney “wouldn’t be the best place for her.” She shared that she had a tense encounter with her in early February 2023.

“I thought I was going to be the bigger person and at least break the ice and go there and say ‘hello,’ and it was like a death glare that went right through my soul,” Leviss said.
