Waiting times will be reduced by winning the NHS contract for an independent clinic

Venturi Cardiology, an independent cardiac diagnostics clinic, has secured an NHS contract with St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals (STHK) at no additional cost to the NHS.

Venturi has also partnered with STHK on a pioneering heart failure program to quickly treat some of the most vulnerable heart patients and give them much-needed answers, often on the same day.

The Warrington-based clinic has won a trio of NHS contracts that have ensured more than 3,000 patients awaiting vital heart diagnostic services in the North West were treated up to and beyond 20 weeks earlier.

In addition to STHK, contracts include Mid-Cheshire Hospitals (MCHT), Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and a GP association.

Her work with some NHS trusts has resulted in a 50% reduction in waiting lists and in some cases waiting lists for echocardiograms and CT scans of the heart have been dropped entirely and patients can now get the tests they need immediately.

Launched in 2021, Venturi Cardiology offers the latest cardiac diagnostic technology and access to contemporary cardiovascular care.

The co-founders dr. Scott Murray, Dr. Jonathan Hasleton and Dr. Tom Heseltine and her team are dedicated to treating the root causes of heart disease and making world-class heart care accessible, affordable and more personal.

This is a key reason why Venturi consultants, who also work in the NHS, carry out their Venturi work for the NHS at or below current NHS rates.

dr Scott Murray said: “We are proud to be working with a growing number of health foundations across the North West to help them reduce record high waiting lists that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

“Our streamlined clinical and operational team can list and see patients in less time and send reports back to the appropriate hospitals in days.”

“In the last 18 months we have treated over 3,000 NHS patients and many of these people would still be awaiting vital heart tests without our support. We’re committed to helping the NHS reset and recover.

“Crucially we have saved the NHS time, money and resources and, most importantly, perhaps saved some lives.”

Vicky Hilton, Deputy Service Manager, Cardio-Respiratory and Vascular Diagnostics at Mid-Cheshire Hospitals said: “The partnership we have developed with Venturi has enabled the continued delivery of patient-centric care, patient safety and good patient outcomes during unprecedented times of pressure .”

Venturi Cardiology was officially launched in June 2021 by TV actress and hits radio DJ Gemma Atkinson and former Bolton Wanderers player Fabrice Muamba.

In addition to the more than 3,000 NHS patients studied, Venturi has helped over 2,000 self-funded and private patients get the answers they need quickly and easily.

This month, the clinic is launching a range of symptom-focused self-pay packages that bundle specific diagnostic tests based on a patient’s concern, such as palpitations, chest pain or high blood pressure. Full details of these packages, including pricing, can be found here.
