Season Two Reloaded brought a ton of changes to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. In terms of weapon customization, we saw long-awaited nerfs to the KV Broadside shotgun and RAAL LMG, as well as buffs to a number of SMGs. In addition to weapons, significant changes were also made to armor.
Armor plates are an integral part of Warzone 2’s health system, boosting players by 150 HP. They’re denoted by blue hit markers, and when they’re broken, players will see a small icon to let them know. Recent changes also resulted in players receiving an “Armor Break” notification to let them know the enemy was reduced to base health.
However, this proved incredibly unpopular, with players complaining that it caused them to stop firing, believing the enemy had been downed. With Season 2 Reloaded, the “Armor Break” notification has now been removed.
According to the official patch notes, “Text has been removed from the Armor Break notification (when all of an enemy’s armor plates are destroyed) to improve clarity while the icon is preserved.”
Similarly, looting armor plates is now much more intuitive. Currently, players must press and hold the loot button to confirm that they want to pick up armor plates. Season Two Reloaded changed this to make auto-looting armor a default.
The developers said, “Since armor plates are a critical part of the gameplay loop, players will now automatically pick up armor plates as long as they have inventory or backpack space available.”
The changes will certainly be welcomed by players, many of whom have advocated for armor to be more seamlessly integrated with gunfights and looting. Season Two Reloaded offers both at face value.
