Who is Anthony Strangis and what happened to him?
Anthony Strangis is the disgraced subject Bad vegan and a serial con artist who made his wife, Sarma, endure psychological, sexual, and emotional abuse for four and a half years while spending millions of dollars from their business and personal funds on casinos.
Although Anthony and Sarma were arrested in 2016 on 11 counts of grand theft, 8 counts of criminal tax fraud and 3 counts of scheming to defraud investors, Anthony was able to reach an agreement and was sentenced to only five years probation.
However, Anthony spent a year in prison after being unable to pay his own bail ahead of the court date and he is currently at large.
Was Anthony Strangis in the military?
No, it seems Strangis’ stories about his days in the military are made up.
The Netflix documentary explained that Anthony Strangis would constantly talk about his time in the military, specifically with the Navy SEALS.
Sarma even told Netflix that he would explain his mysterious extended absences by admitting to serving in the Black Ops. Stangis’ laptop was also heavily password-protected, and the interface sported a CIA-style badge.
A story Strangis told about being shot dead in the military turned out to be a lie as the bandages he was wearing reportedly made his chest look smaller.
