St. Louis Cardinals legend Albert Pujols hit the 701st home run of his career in a 2-1 win (box score) against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night. As the evening began, Pujols had not fired since Friday, September 23. when he met the numbers 699 and 700 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Pujols’ explosion led to the final score of 1-1 at the end of the fourth inning. According to Statcast, the home run left the bat with an exit speed of 102.6 mph and traveled about 398 feet. Below you can watch the home run in all its moving image glory. Note that the ball sailed into the third deck, just above the Big Mac Land signage:

Pujols, 42, is stationed fourth all-time, about 13 home runs behind Babe Ruth. He’s already announced his intention to retire at the end of the season and the Cardinals have just five games left, meaning he has a suspension to remain in that position. Still, Pujols is doing well to create a split between himself and Alex Rodriguez, who ranks fifth all-time with 696 home runs.

Pujols entered the year at 0.261/0.335/0.519 (142 OPS+) on Friday night. He’s now at .262/.337/.527 with 22 home runs and 13 extra extra base hits.

The Cardinals have already won the National League Central title. They’re too far behind the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets now bound in the NL East, for the second seed in the league. As a result, the Cardinals have little to do for the rest of the regular season but pride, stamina, and individual stats.

St. Louis will wrap up its schedule with five more games against the Pirates: two more at home this weekend and three away in Pittsburgh to end the year. WATCH: Cardinals legend Albert Pujols delivers No. 701 home run in win over Pirates
