The latest trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians takes viewers deeper into the challenges the title character faces.
The new clip follows an earlier teaser that focused on Percy’s (Walker Scobell) realization that he is a demigod – the child of a Greek god and a human – and expands on this by showing the characters in previously unknown locations and themselves He and his friends Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) race to bring Zeus’ master bolt back to Olympus.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians based on author Rick Riordan’s best-selling novel quintet; The eight-episode first season, premiering December 20, follows the events of the first book in the series. The Lightning Thief. Scobell, Jeffries and Simhadri star with Glynn Turman, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Adam Copeland, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Suzanne Cryer and Timm Sharp and Timothy Omundson.
Riordan – who was known to not be a fan of the two Percy Jackson Films released in 2010 and 2013 are much more integrated into the series. He is considered a co-creator alongside Jon Steinberg; The pair wrote the first two episodes. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are co-showrunners and executive producers along with Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and DJ Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson.
