Wendy Williams launches podcast after show cancellation

A new kind of medium. Wendy Williams’ podcast is out earlier than expected. The Purple Chair alum was approached by TMZ on June 27, 2022 and shared details about her new podcast.

When approached by the paparazzi, Wendy said she said “a graceful farewell” after the finale of her 13-season show. She was also asked about her upcoming projects, to which she replied: “Obviously a podcast. Which will make me more money than my TV show.” TMZ also reported that Wendy’s manager, Will Selby, will executive produce the podcast. The podcast will also feature conversations with the Kardashians and an unidentified member of the Trump family. Wendy has also been in talks with Fat Joe and Snoop Dogg to appear on the podcast.

Fox aired the final episode of the iconic daytime TV show on June 17, 2022. An insider close to Wendy revealed to The Sun on June 23, 2022 how she really felt about her “baby” cancellation. “I know Wendy is incredibly hurt right now. Last week was a rough week for her,” the insider said. “It’s just awful how it all ended. Wendy has not appeared on her show since July 2021 after dealing with her ongoing health issues. She was diagnosed with Graves’ disease and Sherri Williams took over as intermediate host. Sherri hosted the final episode of the show, and some fans took to Twitter to express their feelings. A user tweeted, “Wendy Williams deserved so much better. She built this show and its audience – not paying her even the slightest respect, having her appear in her farewell episode is outrageous. They treated her so badly because of her health problems

On February 22, 2022, distributor Debmar-Mercury announced that Sherri would be taking over Fox Network’s coveted 10 o’clock slot with her own show.
