Based on TEAMtalk, West Ham are looking to recruit Orlando City striker Daryl Dike, a player who is also a target of Newcastle and Leeds.
What is the story?
Yes, the 21-year-old is one in demand, with West Brom and Crystal Palace also said to want his services in January.
The 8 lids The USA international continued to impress for Orlando City, leading to interest from several Premier League clubs.
Brighton is also interested, according to TEAMtalk.
Interestingly, Dike has been compared to Chelsea and Belgium attacker Romelu Lukaku, which in itself is highly rated.
The comparison was made by Jordan Williams, who played alongside the Americans at Barnsley last season.
As quoted by BBC, Williams said: “Daryl had a rocket with his right foot. I think he looks like Lukaku. He hasn’t scored a lot of goals yet, but he can hit the ball with difficulty.”
If Dike is even 20% better than Chelsea’s No 9, then someone is going to be a special striker this winter.
West Ham, Newcastle and Leeds could lose
In our opinion, Premier League teams interested in Dike should be wary of West Brom, which may sound strange.
You may be wondering why the top airlines are wary of the interest from second-class apparel.
Well, it was Valérien Ismaël who signed Dike for Barnsley last season, and the 46-year-old has since been appointed by West Brom.
Ismaël clearly enjoyed having Dike around, because Express and Star believes that West Brom are “moving heaven and earth” in an attempt to reunite this couple.
Having said that, the Premier League is the Premier League, and Dike has shown he can perform in the Championship.
So he may want to try his hand at a higher level, and of course, Premier League clubs have a financial advantage over West Brom.
