West Ham United want Arnaut Danjuma and have now attacked Villarreal in a bid to land a major transfer coup.
The Hammers have secured a big addition by landing Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd in a deal worth around £30million.
West Ham are now chasing other signings and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola should be on board as a permanent Hammers player very soon.
David Moyes is also interested in more attacking players, with Jesse Lingard being repeatedly linked.
West Ham United want Arnaut Danjuma
This time, however, it’s Villarreal star Danjuma who is being linked with West Ham in what could be a huge coup for Moyes and company.
The Guardian’s claim that West Ham are now closing in on Villarreal to bring Danjuma to East London.
Moyes wants attacking threats and Danjuma has been picked as a player who could bring some star quality to West Ham.
In Spain it was claimed that Danjuma had a release clause in his contract worth a whopping £45million.
If West Ham paid that it would be a real statement of intent – especially given other interests in his signing.
Danjuma claimed in May that Liverpool were interested in signing him, although that was before Darwin Nunez made his big move to Anfield.
It’s now hard to imagine Liverpool signing Danjuma this summer and West Ham may have sensed an opportunity.
Danjuma, 25, joined Villarreal from Bournemouth last summer and excelled with 16 goals and four assists in 36 games.
Whether coming on from the left flank or playing as a striker, Danjuma has emerged as a star and should play with the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Danjuma’s latest leap into the Premier League has been frustrating, but having now been branded ‘explosive’ by Owen Hargreaves, it looks like he’s ready for another try – and West Ham are looking to make that happen.
