Corresponding Gazetta dello SportWest Ham are interested in bringing Bologna defender Arthur Theate to the Premier League this summer.
What’s the matter?
Well, West Ham need new defenders and it seems David Moyes is now planning to target Italy for reinforcements.
The couple’s relationship took a hit after the 22-year-old was substituted at half-time in the recent 3-1 defeat by Sassuolo.
Now the Italian news outlet believes a €10m (£8m) offer would be enough to start negotiations between West Ham and Bologna, which is peanuts for a Premier League side.
Theate mainly played in central defence, although he also scored one Appeared at left-back this season.
Arthur Theater would be perfect for West Ham
We think Theate would be a great addition to the Hammers this summer given his versatility.
West Ham need to strengthen their centre-back department in particular, although a fresh face at left-back wouldn’t hurt either.
No one knows if Angelo Ogbonna will be the same player once he fully recovers from his serious knee injury.
Elsewhere, Issa Diop could also leave as Newcastle are interested.
With Theate being able to play both in the middle and on the left side of defence, he would be a very useful squad option for Moyes.
The Irons wouldn’t have to break the bank for his signature either, so if the signing doesn’t work out West Ham won’t be hit too hard in the pocket.
Keep an eye on this situation because anything could happen this summer.
