The drama surrounding the ongoing backlash began when CEO Mark Valade sent a email talked about the role of vaccines.

His message read: โ€œWe put workplace safety first on our list of priorities and the recent Supreme Court ruling does not affect that core value. We, and the medical community, continue to believe that vaccines are necessary to ensure a safe work environment for all our associates and possibly even their households. While we appreciate that there can be different points of view, safety in the workplace is an area where we and the union representing our associates cannot compromise.โ€

It further notes: โ€œAn unvaccinated workforce is both a human and a business risk that our company is not willing to accept.โ€

Social media users tend to ‘Boycott Carhartt’

Some have expressed their disappointment at the news of the vaccination mission. It didn’t take long for people to start the hashtag ‘Boycott Carhartt’ because they thought it was wrong to force people to take vaccines.

At the same time, many people have burned their Carhartt outfits since the announcement was made. However, there are others who don’t jump into the cancellation culture.
