What did Chris Rock say to Will Smith?
Definitely one of the most shocking moments in awards show history: Chris Rock is punched in the face by Will Smith.
The comedian joked about Javier Bardem and his wife Penelope Cruz as they were both Oscar-winning. Chris then moved on to Jada and said, “Jada, I love you; GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” which led to a roar of laughter from the crowd, while Will also chuckled at the joke.
The gag was a reference to the actress’ shaved hairdo, which she opted for as a result alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss on the scalp, eyebrows, and/or eyelashes. Meanwhile, GI Jane alludes to the 1997 film starring Demi Moore, in which she shaved her head to represent Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil.
Jada was seen rolling her eyes, followed by a camera cut to Chris, who defended the joke: “That was a nice one!”
The comedian’s next line was interrupted by Will approaching the stage, at which point Chris exclaimed “Uh oh” just seconds before the actor seemingly slapped him in the face.
After the shocking bang, he simply responded with a “Wow, Will Smith just blew me away,” before the actor warned him to “keep my wife’s name out of your friggin’ mouth.” ”
Chris will therefore not press charges CNN. However, if he wishes to make a complaint at a later date, the authorities will investigate the situation.
Jada’s battle with alopecia
Jada has spoken openly about her condition, including going on Instagram to avoid speculation about their state of health. 2018 in an episode of red table talk, She described it as “terrifying” to see a handful of hair in her hand while showering one day.
She first cut her hair and then switched to turbans to hide the hair loss, but now she’s fully embracing the look.
“My hair was a big part of me. Taking care of my hair was a beautiful ritual,” she recalls. “I had really thick, healthy, and beautiful hair, to the point where people always thought I had a weave.”
