What do you get with your Pokémon Go: Johto ticket?

After the success of the first Pokémon Go Tour event celebrating Kanto, the game is throwing another one to the second generation games taking place in Johto. The event goes live on February 26, 2022, from 9am to 9pm your local time. While you’ll automatically get access to a few of Johto’s Pokémon, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for $11.99 for a chance to take part in all of the event’s celebrations. Here’s what you get when you buy a Pokémon Go: Johto Ticket.
Once you’ve purchased your Pokémon GO: Johto Admission Ticket, you can participate as soon as the event begins on February 26. If purchased before January 10, you’ll have access to the Timing Study seasonal specials for both January and February. If you make a purchase between then and February 10, you’ll only receive February timeline research. Completing either line will give you a Work Research line, which is expected to be difficult to complete. Completing Special Research during the event will allow you to encounter a Celebi who knows a special move.
As a nod to the main Pokémon games that have multiple versions per generation, you’ll have the choice between a Gold or Silver version of the ticket, which will be made available as the event approaches. Once you have made a selection, you cannot change it later. If you’re a ticket holder, you’ll gain access to Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Gold and Silver through wild attacks, research, eggs, or raids. Each version will have a number of exclusive Pokémon and shiny Johto Pokémon appearing at an increasing rate. If you have a friend who is also buying tickets, make sure you buy the other person to exchange the following types of exclusive tickets with each other.
- Exclusive Gold – Spinarak, Gligar, Teddiursa and Mantine
- Shiny Gold Pokémon with increased chance – Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Spinarak, Igglybuff, Natu, Hoppip, Sunkern, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Gligar, Shuckle, Teddiursa, Swinub, Mantine and Ho-Oh
- Silver Monopoly – Ledyba, Delibird, Skarmory and Phanpy
- Shiny silver Pokémon increase chance – Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Ledyba, Cleffa, Sudowoodo, Hoppip, Yanma, Pineco, Delibird, Skarmory, Houndour, Phanpy, Miltank, Larvitar and Lugia
While the shiny Pokémon above appear at an increasing rate, all Johto’s Pokémon will have a shiny form appear, including Unown. In addition, nine collecting challenges will be active. You will need to make several transactions with another version of the ticket to get it all done.
Other benefits when you buy tickets:
- Certain Pokémon will be attracted to Incense depending on your version
- A pack of three Remote Raid Cards will be available for free in the store
- Eggs will take a quarter of the time to hatch compared to normal
- Hatching eggs reward double candy
- Catching Pokémon Johto will increase candies
- Earn up to nine Raid Passes by spinning Gym Pokémon
- Exclusive medals and stickers in the game
- A surprise from Snapshot
