What happened to Beni, Pastor Bill Johnson, Pastor of Bethel Church?

Bethel Church pastor Bill Johnson’s wife and co-pastor Beni passed away on July 13 at the age of 67. We take a look at their health issues.

Many of the church’s followers send their condolences to Pastor Bill, who shared Facebook that Beni had died and was now “healthy and free”.

The Johnsons’ Church in Redding, California allegedly has around 11,000 members.

What happened to Beni Johnson?

Sadly, Beni passed away after a long battle with cancer.

she was Breast cancer diagnosed in March 2018. At that time she announced that doctors had found two lumps in her right breast, which were immediately removed.

“When this all started in March and I left the doctor’s office in shock. I asked Jesus, ‘What do I do now?’ I heard Jesus say to me, ‘Just love me.’ I said, ‘I can do this’.” she said in 2018.

However, according to the doctors, the situation worsened allegedly discovered she had a mutation in her BRCA2 gene that puts her at a higher risk of developing other types of cancer.

In February 2021, the Redding, California-based church launched a 24/7 prayer campaign for Beni after her cancer appeared to have worsened.

The news appeared a few days ago Beni was being treated for chemotherapy in home hospice care.

Pastor Bill Johnson took care of him Facebook after Beni’s death and shared a picture of her caption: “Healthy and free.”

Her son, Brian Johnson, took to Instagram and wrote: “My mum went home tonight. Love you mom.”

The couple’s only daughter Leah ValenzuelaShe said, “Mom, I love you beyond words! You were the best mother anyone could ever ask for, but not only that, you were my best friend.

“It’s such an honor to be your daughter. You are my hero (well and dad). I love you! See you in heaven!”

Bethel Church was founded in 1952

Bethel Church was started in 1952 afterwards their first meeting in a private house. This intimate gathering grew into a movement.

The institution has since established King’s Kids Christian School and Pastor Ray Larson led the school for its early years.

Bill and Beni Johnson became pastors in 1996.
