What is the flavor of Coca-Cola’s new “Intergalactic” cola?

More than a century after The Coca-Cola Company was founded in 1892, cola is still the world’s most popular soft drink.

Coca-Cola’s Classic, Diet, Zero, Vanilla and Cherry flavors have a firm place on store shelves around the world, but the company is always coming up with new and exciting editions as well.

The latest is called “Intergalactic”, but what is it actually? This is what the space drink really tastes like…

Coca-Cola launches Intergalactic flavor

This week, Coca-Cola launched its brand new limited edition drink, Intergalactic.

The drink, which is said to “taste like space”, launched in the UK in April and is available in stores for a limited time.

It’s the same drink as the company’s “Starlight” flavor that launched in America in February, it just has a different name in the UK.

Both products are part of a new series of limited-edition beverages and experiences called Coca‑Cola Creations, which aims to:

“Slake Gen Z’s thirst for discovery through a range of unexpected beverage and packaging designs, culturally relevant expressions and creative collaborations.

How does it taste?

Coca-Cola has worked hard to “create the taste of space,” taking inspiration from the fact that in 1985, Coca-Cola was one of the first soft drinks to be consumed in space.

“Now, more than 36 years later, the brand is bringing the magic of outer space to Earth for a limited time by introducing an intergalactic flavor and a galaxy of immersive, otherworldly digital experiences,” they said.

How does space actually taste? Well, the drink is red in color and contains carrot and blackberry in the ingredients, as well as carbonated water, acid, color, sweetener and caffeine flavor.

However, many think the drink has a sweet flavor, like popcorn, cotton candy, or cream soda.

“Inspired by the infinite possibilities of outer space, Coca-Cola Starlight combines signature Coca-Cola flavor with unexpected accents, including a reddish hue and a cooling taste experience that evokes the feeling of a journey into space,” said Coca-Cola.

The only real way to know what it tastes like is to try it yourself. Coca-Cola ‘Intergalactic’ is available in stores across the UK in 250ml cans costing 77p.
