What music is from F1 on the podium after the Grand Prix? What song do the drivers celebrate with?
You just finished on the podium at the Grand Prix and celebrated with your team.
You’ve been weighed in and congratulated your housemates on the podium – and then make your way to the podium for the trophy and celebrations.
But what is the podium music used in F1? Which classical piece is used?
The national anthems are played first.
The winning driver will play his before the team follows.
In the case of Lewis Hamilton, the German national anthem is therefore played after the British one – for Mercedes – even if there is no German on the podium.
Max Verstappen has the Dutch and Austrian anthems played for his home country and the one where Red Bull is registered, despite being based in Milton Keynes in the UK.
After the national anthems and trophies have been distributed, F1 drivers in some countries celebrate with champagne or sparkling wine on the podium.
